Experiments with Haiku

I should have been performing in a play at the end of April with Attic Theatre in Newcastle Emlyn. Of course it had to be postponed, but our director has been setting us some tasks and puzzles to keep us busy. The latest task has been to write some Haiku poetry. I love writing poetry, so rattled a few poems off, but I now have the bug! So I’ve written another Haiku poem and thought I would start my new blog page with said poem.

A single pink rose
Clings on to a dying stem:
Life defying death.

There is hope in these strange times. We will be able to meet up with friends and family again soon and enjoy our hobbies and meals out and dropping in to the pub for a drink. Until then, we cling on to each little bit of freedom we have.

    Friends far distant,
    Happy times behind,
    Happier days ahead.
Just a quickie off the top of my head, I was always berated during my school days for creating poetry that didn’t rhyme, how times have changed. 😉
    Yours is lovely Jude.
