About us

Our home

Built in the 1870’s as a small barn for a couple of cows and part of 4 linked cottages that were for workers on the Glanarberth Estate, the building was extended a little in the 1980’s to provide a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom in addition to the original barnstructure as a living space.

Monty the Morris

A soft top car has been on Jude’s bucket list for a long time, so we are the current custodians of this 1965 minor classic (get it).

Cardigan & District Agriculture and Maritime Museum

CADAMM is based in a barn at the Dyfed Shire Horse Farm, this a wide ranging collection of farm implements and machinery. A number of the exhibits were made by local companies and some are very rare. The museum hosts an annual show at the farm and holds working demonstrations of many of the machines. The Fordson pictured with Steve is regularly given a run round the farm.

Amateur Dramatics

With Jude having a B. Ed. in drama it’s no surprise that she’s at home on a stage. Steve’s interests are more off stage … set building and backstage. Currently, we are members of Attic Theatre in Newcastle Emlyn. See you there sometime!

Greenbelt

Greenbelt Festival happens every August and we have been volunteering there nearly 20 years, now.

“It’s somewhere artistry meets activism, the secular meets the spiritual, politics meets positivity. We’re somewhere to come together once a year, where we’re just as likely to dream up a better world as we are to dance and debate, to pray and to party (ideally all of those things at the same time).”

A man & woman cave in one

Probably 100 years old, this traditional corrugated iron building has been divided into 2. The front provides Steve with a home for tools, motorbike, cycles, stationary engine and his thinking chair. The rear half is where Jude can get crafty with sewing machines.

Motorbikes

2020 marks the 50th. year of Steve’s love affair with two wheeled motorised transport. That’s 50 years legally on the road + a few years trashing mopeds in fields. The Kawasaki Z250 is the curent one, first registered in 1981 so it becomes a classic next year (no MOT or Tax). The little picture shows the bike he bought aged 16, a 98cc Parilla.

Sewing Craftiness

Jude’s ambitions with a sewing machine know no bounds. Clothing, upholstery, window blinds and theatre scrubs during the Covid lockdown!
